Grand Commanders Message
Embracing New Beginnings with Chivalrous Growth
To Our Esteemed Sir Knights:
As we look toward the year ahead, let us turn our eyes to new beginnings filled with growth and positive outlooks. The strength of our Grand Commandery lies in the dedication, fellowship, and unwavering Chivalry of every Sir Knight. Now is the time to renew our commitment to the sacred tenets of our Order: Faith, Hope, and Charity, and step forward with optimism and purpose.
🌟 Opportunities for Engagement and Advancement
The following initiatives exemplify the meaningful actions we can undertake:
- Commandery Excellence: Ensure preparedness for the Annual Inspection by actively attending Exemplifications and participating in a Division-wide Expanded School of the Knight.
- Fraternal Visitation: Strengthen the bonds of the Order by visiting other Commanderies, particularly during the conferral of the
- York Rite Support: Provide support to our local Chapters and Councils. Collaborate with these bodies to present the “The Rite Way” or “Open Mark Degree” programs within local Lodges or Lodges of
• Christian Service (Charity):
- Organize collections of food and clothing for distribution to local food banks and clothing repositories, fulfilling the charge to “Feed the Hungry [and] Clothe the Naked.”
- Launch fundraising campaigns aimed at making every member of your Commandery a Life Sponsor of the esteemed Knights Templar Eye Foundation, thereby fulfilling the imperative to “Bind up the Wounds of the Afflicted.”
- Teamwork: Establish a 5-7 man drill team. Guidance for formation and practice can be obtained through the Expanded School of the Knight program. This may be a way to introduce new members to some of the unique activities of a Commandery and building teams of Sir Knights who enjoy working together toward a common goal in the process.
By sharing our light and working together, we will build a future for the Knights Templar in Massachusetts and Rhode Island that is vibrant, impactful, and truly exemplifies our Christian service.
