M∴I∴ Andrew C. Maninos Biography

Born on November 20, 1942, in Malden, Massachusetts, to Greek Orthodox parents, he graduated from Malden High School, and then attended Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1966, where he received a degree in Applied Sciences.  Through his dedication to the school, he received an Honorary Degree of Technology in 2016.

During these early years, he was an active member of the Malden DeMolay, and is a member of DeMolay International’s Legion of Honor and is a Senior DeMolay.

He served in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam during 1968 and 1969, and received an Honorary Discharge.

Prior to entering the military, he was Raised in Converse Lodge, A.F. & A.M., in Malden, on March 8, 1965.  He served as Master in 1976, 1978, 2000, and in 2017.  Recognized by his lodge for his commitment and dedication, he was presented the Joseph Warren Distinguished Service Medal in 1982, being the 1,249th Massachusetts Mason to receive this Honor. He later served as Master of the 35th Lodge of Instruction, and is a member of five additional Blue lodges, with three being Honorary.

In his service to our Grand Lodge, he served as District Deputy Grand Master of the Melrose 7th Masonic District from 1994 to 1996, was a Grand Steward in 1983, General Chairman of the Grand Master’s Country Fair, as well as serving on the Grand Lodge Service Committee.

An active York Rite Mason, he is a member of The Royal Arch Chapter of the Tabernacle in Wakefield and served as its High Priest.  He is a Past District Deputy Grand High Priest, and Past Grand King.  The holder of the Benjamin Hurd Medal. He is also a member of the Holy Royal Arch Templar Priests, he is a member of Mayflower York Rite College, #105.

A member of Orient Council of Royal & Select Master Masons in Wakefield, he served as Illustrious Master, and is a Past Deputy Grand Master.  He is the holder of the Abraham A. Dame Medal, the Meritorious Ish Sodi Award, is Grand Representative to Rhode Island and currently is serving as the Most Illustrious Grand Master of Royal & Select Master Masons of Massachusetts.

A Knight Templar in Beauseant-Palestine Commandery, #10, in Wakefield, he served as Commander, Knight Commander of the Temple, and is a member of Bay State Conclave, R.C.C.

He is a Past Grand Commander, and is a member of five other Commanderies, with two being Honorary.

In addition to the organizations listed above, he is also a member of Aleppo Temple Shriners, A.A.O.N.M.S, Scottish Rite, N.M.J., as well as Omar Grotto.
